How is the Nintendo Wii does not allow you to download demos of upcoming games? Xbox 360 and PS3 do?

Well first of all it is Nintendo machines first real attempt at interactive online and on the other hand, the Wii only has 512MB storage and a game is typically 2-3GB (sometimes 4 GB) custom fit about it. Even Demos can weigh in at 1-2 GB for you but I no hope of mounting ON. Maybe when they allow you to attach an external drive (USB key words may be and when), they could allow downloads of demos and such
